DAY 01 ARRIVAL AT LEH, LADAKH

Early Morning flight from Delhi to Leh. You will be received by our representative and transferred to the hotel. Traditional Check in, welcome tea /coffee will be served. Ladakh is about 3500 Mts above sea level, we advice the rest of the day to be at leisure.It will enable you to get acclimatized of the rarefied air and high altitude.

At Evening , a planned tour of the following attractions.

  • Shanti Stupa – Highest point in Leh city, Magnificent view. Ideal spot for city life photography and great landscape shots
  • Leh Mosque – Situated in the heart of the Leh city is the Jama Masjid, the favorite mosque of Sunni Muslims in Leh and surrounding villages. Constructed during 1666-1667 A.D as per agreement between the then ruler of Ladakh Deldan Namgyal and the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, the mosque is believed to be an ancient heritage in Leh. With beautiful stone carving, it is definitely a place to visit while in Leh. The mosque is open to only men.

Evening easy walk in Leh bazaar for experiencing the local hustle-bustle of the old Leh city.

DAY 02 LEH SIGHTSEEING

A Monastery & local sightseeing tour of the Leh City.

First Half:

  • Thiksey Monastery  – Noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet and is the largest gompa in central Ladakh. One of the main points of interest is the Maitreya (future Buddha) Temple with a 15 metres (49 ft) high statue of Maitreya, the largest such statue in Ladakh, covering two storeys of the building is deified in the monastery.
  • Hemis Monastery – Hemis Monastery is the largest monastic institution in Ladakh. Located on the outskirts of Leh City, a scenic setup famous for the annual Hemis festival in june.
  • Shey Palace & Monastery  Located on a Hillock in Shey. Used to be the summer retreat for the king, now the palace lies in ruin. The monastery is noted for its giant copper with gilded gold statue of a seated Shakyamuni Buddha.
  • Sindhu Darshan – A peaceful riverbank nestled in the surreal landscape of Ladakh. Ideal spot for clicking picture postcards of a Ladakh landscape, Indus river & Autumn color on trees.

Second Half:

  • Patthar Sahib Gurudwara – is a beautiful Gurudwara sahib constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, built in 1517 to commemorate the visit to the Ladakh region of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder Guru of the Sikh faith.
  • Magnetic Hill – a gravity hill alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference. In reality, the effect is an optical illusion. Popular spot on Leh-Srinagar highway.
  • Hall of Fame  Glorious museum constructed & managed by the Indian Army.  A place to see the memorabilia, images and weapons used during the Kargil and other key strategic battles fought in Ladakh.
  • Confluence point  A confluence of Indus & Zanskar river.

DAY 03 Pangong Tso

Early departure (6 AM) for Pangong Tso (Lake) (approx. 300 kms round trip) via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft Third Highest Pass of the world)

Pangong Tso at an altitude of 14,500 ft is 4-5 kms wide and over 135 kms long, about two-third of which lies on the other side of the Indo-China LAC (Line of Actual Control). Pangong Tso was featured in the last scenes of the 2010 movie, 3 Idiots. After the success of the movie, this beautiful natural location has attracted more tourists from all over the world.
After experiencing Pangong Tso and lunch at the lake, drive back to Leh reaching by late afternoon/evening.

DAY 04 Khardung La Top

After breakfast drive to KhardungLa (80 kms round trip).

Khardung La is widely, but incorrectly, believed to be the world's highest motorable pass. However it is the highest mountain pass located in the Ladakh region.

On the drive back from the pass, you will be rewarded with spectacular views of the Indus Valley and the endless peaks of the Zanskar range.

On the way back, a visit to the following spots.

  • Castle of Namgial Tsemo – This is the Castle of King Tashi Nagmial 15th Cent. A.D. Below, a red temple which houses goddess Paldan Lhamo (skrt. Sreedevi) and a white temple in which a 3 storey height of Maitreya Buddha is to be seen. Monks from nearby Sankar monastery attend to both of these chapels every morning and evenings. A spectacular sight to view the old Leh valley.
  • Leh Palace It is a magnificent fort on a mountain top overlooking the Leh town. Ideal spot to see panoramic views of Leh and surrounding areas combined with Zanskar and Ladakh mountain ranges.
DAY 05 Departure from Leh

Early morning transfer to the airport for taking the flight back home.
